I train primarily gi. I love to use the angolay of NFL running backs and Olympic track runners. They use parachutes for drag when they do sprints during training. The gi is much the same. It provides friction, handles, and dangers that are not present when you are no-gi. Thus, when wearing the gi, you must use more technique, more effective technique, and be aware of the many dangers that lurk. Allnof those things, when aware, will make your no gi time far easier. I encourage everyone to suffer in the gi! ALL the abu dhabi champs are gi practitioners!
